Olivia Milroy Evans

I am a teacher and scholar working at the intersection of contemporary poetry and poetics, narrative theory, rhetoric, and media studies. Currently, I am the Joseph F. Martino Lecturer in Cornell's Department of Literatures in English, where I recently defended my dissertation, “Archiving Otherwise: Contemporary Documentary Poetry.” In 2020–2021, I held the Shin Yong-Jin Fellowship for excellence in teaching and scholarship at Cornell. My work is forthcoming in Callaloo, Contemporary Literature, and Word & Image. Originally from North Carolina, I completed my BA at Wake Forest University and my MA at the University of Virginia, where I focused on 19–20th century world anglophone literature. Before entering graduate school, I taught at a classical high school in Northern Virginia. Outside of my teaching and research, I enjoy analyzing television shows with friends and learning to paint.
